While the ‘Plus’ might make it seem significantly better, the Tecno L8 Plus shares virtually the same specs as the new Tecno L8. The phablet offers double the RAM, but otherwise offers largely similar features as the regular , including a mammoth battery and display.
Display and Camera
The Tecno L8 Plus is designed for pleasurable content viewing with a massive display measuring 5.5 inches diagonally.
The IPS capacitive touchscreen has an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. A pixel density of about 267 ppi doesn’t sound awesome, but it should still impress to an extent
In the camera department, the Tecno L8 Plus offers a pair of an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The main camera, in particular, should deliver high quality shots with features such as LED flash, autofocus and HDR.
Hardware and Software
A quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3 GHz provides the muscles needed to get things done on the Tecno L8 Plus.
It is supported by a more respectable 2 GB of RAM, compared to the lowly 1 GB you will find on the regular Tecno L8.
In spite of the greater RAM, the Tecno L8 Plus phablet still doesn’t look like one to fully satisfy the needs of power users. It runs on Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, which is not the best at this time, but manageable for the price.
The headline feature of the Tecno L8 Plus is the behemoth 5,050mAh battery that it is equipped with. This power bank of a battery offers slightly bigger capacity than that on the new Tecno Droipad 8D.
As would be expected, especially of a device by a Chinese company, the device comes with dual SIM card slots. Tecno L8 Plus offers 3G connectivity with download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.
There is no 4G LTE in sight, though. Connectivity options include microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality
